Consultation
Puggle Psychology provides consultation to individuals, families, schools, organisations, and other professionals seeking psychological guidance, advice, or support.
A psychological consultation focuses on professional input and recommendations, rather than formal assessment or diagnosis. Consultations are suitable when support, clarification, or guidance is needed without commencing a full psychological assessment.
A consultation does not initiate a formal diagnostic assessment process and does not involve standardised diagnostic testing. If an assessment is recommended, this is discussed separately, and an intake appointment is required before assessment services commence.
Where helpful, consultations may include written summaries or recommendations. Any additional written work is billed separately and does not constitute a diagnostic assessment report.
Other things a psychological consultation can involve:
- Clarifying concerns, goals, and priorities
- Reviewing or interpreting existing information or reports
- Advising on appropriate supports, strategies, or reasonable adjustments
- Problem-solving around wellbeing, behaviour, or daily functioning
- Providing guidance and psychoeducation to build understanding and confidence
- Supporting planning, transitions, or review of current supports
- Liaising with other professionals or services, with consent
